“ This place as an absolute landmark in East LA, the food is made fresh so do expect it to be ready and waiting for you like Taco Bell, had the bean & cheese and my son had the beef & bean, both where delicious and we will be back. I highly recommend this spot just expect to wait but it is worth the wait ”

“ Yum town. I had never heard of Al & Bea's until earlier this week via some YouTube videos from Insider, and then subsequently other food bloggers. When I found out that this was a few minutes from my job, I found some friends at work to join me on my request for burrito euphoria. Al & Bea's is tucked away between buildings but it's easy to spot. Order at the window, wait and pick up at an adjacent window. When we went today on a Thursday around 12:15ish, it was about a 20-25 min wait for our food. So, it appears it can get busy during lunch rush. I ordered the combination burrito which has shredded beef, beans and cheese. With card it was $10 and some change. The burrito came out super hot, and I opted for a side of salsa with it. This is a fantastic burrito. Tortilla is thin but held the weight well (no spillage was had). The amount of ingredients inside was perfectly balanced, and the flavors were all so solid. These are some of the best beans I've had in any burrito, probably ever. I took my time enjoying it and was sad when it was over. Service is nice and friendly as well. Overall I get the hype and am already thinking about the next time I can come to try the chile relleno burrito! ”

“ This is definitely a must stop spot if you're in the area- been around since I was a baby and I remember going here when I was in HS. My best friend invited me to lunch here and I couldn't refuse! We hopped on the freeway and drove down 25 minutes to have their Al & Beas special! Shredded beef, beans, rice, guacamole, cheese and lettuce and tomato all wrapped up in a burrito. My bestie had taquitos deluxe and a bean n cheese burrito. Food taste exactly the way it did years ago. Place is clean- service was fast and friendly. People ordering and eating on the tables were all nice. The only issue would be parking! Don't go around lunch time- if you do I recommend calling in your order. Also this place use to be cash only but not w I noticed they do accept cards and mobile pay. ”

“ We were looking for something tasty in the area and we remembered that a random stranger recommended this place. We stopped by on a very rainy Thursday. There was plenty of parking at the front, so we put in a couple quarters and walked in. The menu is on the wall, there's a small window where you order and some chairs and tables that you can sit and enjoy the food. Since it was raining, no one sat outside, which was fine since we took it to go. The prices are fair and the portions are okay. We decided to go with a bean and cheese (with green chili) burrito, chicharron burrito and a taco plate. The bean and cheese burrito was excellent. It was on the smaller side but that's okay, quality wise it was really good. It was gooey from the cheese and the beans had a lot of flavor and not too salty. The tortilla was nice and warm. The chicharron burrito was basically a bean and cheese but with chicharron, minus the cheese. The chicharron was soft but it tasted a bit burnt. Not sure why. But it was still good. The taco plate my husband enjoyed. He liked the hard shell and he said it was a good size. He also enjoyed that there were beans and rice to eat on the side. They gave us some red and green sauce. The red sauce was heavy on oregano with some kick to it. The green sauce was served hot and it was actually surprisingly good. I don't know how to explain how it tasted like, but it added a different flavor profile to the burritos I had. I really liked it. The man at the window told us that we picked a good day to stop by because there wasn't much of a line. I really want to try other items on their menu so we will definitely be back soon. ”

“ I've been dreaming about these burritos since I first tried them! I honestly could not understand the hype of something so seemingly simple but these bean and cheese burritos are seriously delicious. I also tried the chili cheese fries. I did takeout so by the time I got home my fries were soggy (at no fault of Al & Bea's, I had a pretty long drive). They were alright but I wished I got the chips instead. Street parking only and expect to wait. ”

“ Serving delicious Mexican food since 1966, Al & Beas is a staple in the Boyle Hights community. This cute family owns restaurant knows how to make mexican food good. I normally get the Combo burrito and I usually have to eat it for two meals because its massive. Definitely get your moneys worth here with the portions sizes. The staff here is always so nice and really treat their guest as family. The parking in front of this small hole in the wall spot is limited for it can be a hit or miss sometimes. But you can always find parking if you go up a block of you. ”

“ In search of the best bean and cheese burrito? The locals say Al & Bea is top tier and specializing in burritos since 1966. It's easy to drive past this small outdoor restaurant but you can't miss it because of it's orange lettering on chocolate brown background. For about $6 and change, the bean and cheese burrito is a bargain. It'll hold you over since it an average sized burrito. So, if you're hungry, you'll need to order another item. The fried beans here are savory and creamy with a sprinkle of cheese. I did like the tortillas here too. Tasty, soft and pliable. I'll have to come by again to try their chile relleno burrito. Apparently Al & Bea gives La Azteca Tortilleria some competition. Parking next to the restaurant is hit or miss buy finding parking block or two isn't too bad to find. ”

“ My brother and I got the Carnitas Burrito and the classic Bean and Cheese. The bean and cheese by far was the best !! Its flavor explodes in your mouth and the cheese is a great compliment to the heavy flavor of the beans. The tortillas are also delicious. The California was good but it was over saturated with lettuce and it diluted the flavor of beans and carnitas. The carnita itself were not that great and I wouldn't get it again! The service does take a little considering we only got two burritos but the wait is totally worth it. They have a little sign too that explains why they might delay with your a food. The restaurant does not have a lot of space in front. There's maybe like 8 small tables altogether. But I believe that is the point since it's supposed to be a stop and go type of restaurant. I would recommend to bring cash because they do charge a fee for using card. ”

“ Bean and cheese burrito with green sauce. Excellent. Very well seasoned and so filling! I heard the red sauce has a kick to it but I went with green and it was just delicious. The wait time (ciclavia day) was extremely long, about 25mins for just 4 burritos and nothing else. Hopefully it's not like that on regular days. The burrito was piping hot, oozing with refried beans and the cheese mixed in it. Good quality tortilla makes all the difference. Will come back ”
